Making the Churchyard more wildlife friendly
We, the committee with the assistance of the Wildlife Trust are making certain areas of the Churchyard more wildlife friendly. The project is a long term one and we hope that you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our beautiful Churchyard. The Northeastern end of the Churchyard is only mown twice a year to allow the flowers to seed themselves.
The remaining churchyard will be mown regularly but we would like to remind families of those buried or ashes interred that they are responsible for the maintenance of their plots, if this difficult then there are people who would be willing to help you through a privately negotiated fee (John Charman Tel. 07398595816).
We are encouraging families who would like to plant up graves that wild flowers such as primroses, violets and Spring flowering bulbs are more suitable; as in the early Summer the areas are mown. Please NO glass vases on graves as they shatter and are therefore dangerous.
Please take any waste home with you.
